Under Triple H's creative control, WWE has done an excellent job booking its titles across multiple divisions. Gunther and Cody Rhodes, the World champion of Raw and SmackDown respectivelyThey feel like the best wrestlers in the world and have both been part of some big feuds. The Women's Champions remain an important part of the company's recent success, with Liv Morgan paving the way for the new version of Judgment Day on Raw.

However, WWE had one weak spot when it came to booking titles this year, and that was oversight of the tag team division. This is especially true for Finn Balor's and JD McDonagh's reign as World Tag Team Champions on Raw as they are unforgettable and symbolic of Judgment Day's demise as a stable this year.
Finn Balor and JD McDonagh are unforgettable champions
They didn't have enough of a presence in the tag division of WWE Raw
- Finn Balor and JD McDonagh defeated The Awesome Truth in June to become World Tag Team Champions.
- The members of Judgment Day are both from Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland.
- Balor helped train McDonagh to become a professional wrestler.
There are so many titles in the WWE right now that there are bound to be a few champions that are less well-known than the others. However, Judgment Day has been one of the promotion's hottest acts for years, and Finn Balor and JD McDonagh have had plenty of time on Raw during their World Tag Team Championship reign.

Still, many fans would be forgiven if they didn't even know who the tag champions are on Rawas Balor and McDonagh were more concerned with the Doomsday drama than defending their titles. Balor's previous reign as tag champion with Damian Priest was great, as WWE made a concerted effort to include her in the right storylines and defend her titles more often. However, this isn't the case with McDonagh, as the belts feel more like props for the two than prizes to defend.
The overall quality of the Raw tag division is there, with teams like American Made, War Raiders, and The New Day (for now) everything is part of it. The division's booking focused on other things, such as The New Day's friction and Wyatt Sicks' feuds, which allowed Balor and McDonagh to fly under the radar as champions.
Judgment Day suffers as a group
The stable on Judgment Day is not as good as it used to be
- Judgment Day has undergone several changes to the group this year.
- Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley have left, while Carlito, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez have joined.
- Finn Balor was previously tag team champion alongside Priest.
Part of Finn Balor and JD McDonagh's disappointing title reign has to do with Judgment Day's decline as a stable. During the pomp that included Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest, the faction could do no wrong as the main villainous force on Raw. Now that they've left, the group has naturally become smaller. although Liv Morgan was a good addition in many ways as a champion in her own right.

Finn Balor is now the de facto leader of the group as he and Dominik Mystrio interact with all the new faces, but it feels like Judgment Day is borrowed as a temporary stable. Its glory days are behind it and a full split seems inevitable sometime over the next six months. Balor and McDonagh's unforgettable title reign is just further evidence that the faction's magic is starting to wear thin, and it's time for WWE to pass the belts to another tandem.
WWE is having trouble booking the tag division
The WWE Tag Team Championships were also handled poorly
- WWE has done very well with its singles titles this year, especially in the main event.
- They even improved the quality of the women's tag department after it was redundant for many years.
- The men's tag title division on SmackDown wasn't as good as it used to be, but it wasn't as weak as it was on Raw either.
It must be said that WWE's booking of the World Tag Team Championship on Raw is not entirely unusual, as the titles on SmackDown were also somewhat poorly booked. The WWE Tag Team Championships are currently held by the Motor City Machine Guns, but have had three previous owners in recent months. A-Town Down Under, DIY, and The Bloodline all held the belts without there being any significant reign between them, indicating WWE's current difficulties in securing the tag division.

The problems began when WWE once again split the tag titles between the two brands, as the belts had previously been treated with greater reverence and were even the focus of a WrestleMania main event. The Women's Tag Team Championships were booked far more effectively this year as a floating all-brand title, as was previously the case with the men.
It may seem harsh to criticize the current state of tag team wrestling in the WWE, as there are still plenty of great teams and a single title does not determine the overall quality of a division. It just feels like the promotion has allowed tag teams to become second fiddle again It was such an important part of Triple H's early success when booking the main squad.
The good news is that it's easy to fix, as WWE can simply restart with a new tag team on Raw, allowing Judgment Day to have its storylines outside of the title picture. In the meantime, the Motor City Machine Guns could have a longer, more memorable tenure on SmackDown, filled with great matches to elevate tag team wrestling across the board in WWE.
