Rhea Ripley is reportedly back on the shelf. WWE announced on Wednesday that Ripley is dealing with a fractured right eye socket, an injury that various professional wrestling journalists believe is legitimate.
This would be Ripley's second injury of the year. WWE staged a segment in which Women's World Champion Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez attacked Ripley in the NXT parking lot.
“Following last night's brutal attack by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez in the NXT parking lot, Rhea Ripley has suffered a fractured right eye socket and will be out of action for an undisclosed period of time,” WWE said in a statement on Twitter.
The information was leaked as part of a plot by professional wrestling journalists Sean Ross Sapp And Dave Meltzer Claim that the orbital fracture is legitimate. Sapp specifically claims that the X-ray image shared by WWE is authentic. It's not uncommon for WWE to downplay perspectives on Superstars recovering from injury.
Ripley's reported injury is a major blow to WWE Raw. Ripley, who suffered a real arm injury during a segment with Morgan in April, has been in contention for the Women's World Cup since returning to television in July.
