South Africa rest all rounder Marizanne Kapp for England T20 series

World Cup finalists South Africa have given all-rounder Marizanne Kapp a rest for the upcoming T20 series with England.

The Proteas will host Heather Knight's side for the ODI and T20 series from November 24, comprising three matches each, followed by a one-off Test match.

The 34-year-old Kapp will return for the 50-over matches while a squad for the Test will be named at a later date.

The T20 series is South Africa's first appearance since the defeat the World Cup final against New Zealand last month, and their selectors have included all-rounders Eliz-Mari Marx and Nondumiso Shangase and batsman Faye Tunnicliffe in their tournament squad.

Seamer Ayabonga Khaka has also been rested, all-rounder Seshnie Naidu will miss the series due to school exams, while wicketkeeper Mieke de Ridder has been left out.

It will be England's first series in the group stage since exiting the World Cup and the tourists have done the same dropped all-rounder Alice Capsey for the Test and T20 legs of the tour.

She was replaced by batsman Paige Scholfield, who will be vying for a third T20 cap in the series opener in East London – on South Africa's southeast coast.
