Vikings set a record for the 2024 NFL season against the Jaguars

The Minnesota Vikings used special teams to score against the Jaguars on Sunday and won 12-7. The team could never really get its offense going, so the defense had to step up and take advantage of the Jaguars' use of a backup quarterback.

However, the lack of points wasn't for lack of trying; The team had plenty of ball possession.

Of the 60 minutes an NFL game plays, the Vikings had the ball 42:19. That's a record for any team in a game during the 2024 NFL regular season. The team turned the ball over because of Sam Darnold three times, which led to the attacks making progress and taking up a lot of time but not resulting in points.

This reinforces the point that this team can still be dominant if turnovers are managed better. It could have easily been a 34-7 win instead of a 12-7 win.
