The road to crowning the first-ever U.S. women's champion continues next Friday.
It was announced on SmackDown that the final opening round match of the tournament would take place on next week's show. Naomi will face off against Tiffany Stratton and Elektra Lopez to determine the final spot in the semifinals of the tournament.
On Friday's show, Michin successfully defeated Piper Niven and Lash Legend. Although Chelsea Green tried to intervene, Michin scored the win after hitting a senton against Piper Niven. She will now face the winner of the last opening round game next week.
Green is already scheduled for the semifinals, where she will face Bayley. The finals of the tournament will take place at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14th in Unionville, New York.
WWE announced the introduction of the championship earlier this month. A similar title, the WWE Women's Intercontinental Title, appeared on Monday's Raw. . Details about determining the first champion have yet to be announced.
