WWE on Friday announced the United States Women's Title tournament series, which does not feature a single Raw Superstar.
This has fueled speculation that a women's Intercontinental title is waiting to be announced.
If this is the case, those who have the chance to apply for it will be left in the dark.
Not only WWE has announced its new US women's titleBut last week on SmackDown it was confirmed which 12 superstars would compete for the shiny new championship's first title. All of them are notable for their absence Raw Superstars at all. Every single participant in the tournament is a SmackDown superstar, which has fueled speculation that the red brand will get its own new women's championship.
There are no Raw Superstars competing for the US Women's Title
Even before the US title bracket was announced, fans were convinced that there would also be a corresponding Intercontinental championship. One would think these announcements would have been made at the same time if there was actually a second announcement, but nine days later, with an edition of Raw already underway, there is no sign of an IC Women's Title being announced.

Despite this, there is still a strong belief that a follow-up announcement is imminent, especially after Friday's SmackDown. The full roster of the tournament has been announced and all 12 superstars are wrestlers from the blue brand. An update from Fightful Select has confirmed that Raw's women's division remains in the dark as to why none of them were included on the roster and that they have not been told if there is another title waiting to be revealed.
Fans hoped Zelina Vega would be in the running
As WWE fans debated who they thought would become the first United States Women's Champion, Superstars who ranked Raw among their top picks were Zelina Vega. This isn't an insult to Vega, but it feels like she's stuck right under a glass ceiling that's preventing her from ever winning singles gold in WWE. For many fans, Vega essentially feels like one of the superstars this title was made for, even though she's not even in the running for the title.
Hopefully this all means there's a second title waiting to be revealed, and maybe we'll get a first look at it later tonight on Raw. There's also a chance we'll have to wait until the first US Women's Champion is crowned, as WWE has an aversion to running tournaments at the same time. In this case, we will have to wait another month, as WWE has already confirmed that the final of its Women's US Title tournament will take place during the rematch of Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, 2024.
