  1. I cut my teeth road rallying in the dark, no pace notes allowed this road reading was all done by the co driver off accurate maps. What a buzz, we had a couple of offs, no big deal, they banned it in the UK in the mid 80’s. I went over some of the routes in mid Wales and North Yorkshire years later in daylight, I must have been mad or ignorant of potential risks. I loved every single minute, I can’t tell you how much I’d do it all again if I could. But that was then, this is now and I’m 77. Memories, life’s eventually about memories and those you shared them with, that’s the great thing about rallying there’s teamwork and great trust in the car.
Incidentally Elfyn Evans’ dad was mighty quick, quicker than me anyway!

  2. Rallying at night on tarmac is my ultimate favourite …
Spend a LOT of time getting the lights set up in the way you want before starting the rally, so it's just connect the spots and go.
But then, you are in your own little tunnel of road, and nothing else exists for you, except for what is lit up. It is the best, and you don't notice the flashes etc., because your attention is already on the next bit of road /bends.

  3. Looked like they nailed their suspension set up for that, that road was clearly rough AF, most of it they rolled right through it. High ride height or lots of travel in them springs with quick bounce back what that called…l fast bump slow bump fast and slow something else? Lol rallying sims really paying off

  4. Only disappointment for me Is the old school management that has failed to hype this sport to this social media hyper generation full of momentum and energy.
