Hampshire's Toby Albert backed his team against Victoria in their final must-win Global Super League group game on Thursday.
After Victory in the opening game They have now suffered two consecutive defeats in the 20-over competition, losing to the Guyana Amazon Warriors on Sunday.
Hampshire need a win against league leaders Victoria to have any chance of reaching Friday's final.
“It was tough chasing in those games,” Albert told BBC Radio Solent.
“I think this wicket was the best we've played on so far, but it still wasn't easy. Guyana are a good team and on paper they are probably the strongest team in the competition.”
“The feeling is that we have to win our last game and you never know what can happen. It’s great to learn here, but everything we play at home is so different that it will only help us.”
Hampshire batted first against Guyana, scoring 146-6 in their 20 overs – Shan Masood top-scored with 79.
But they were unable to contain the hosts, who cruised to a win by four wickets with 10 balls to spare.
After each team has played all four of their group games, the top two teams play in the final.
Hampshire are third in the table, two points behind top two placed Guyana and Victoria.
