The PCB had to abandon the women's championship on Monday after five players narrowly escaped following a fire outbreak in the team hotel. The board tried to find alternative accommodation for the teams but could not find an alternative location for the teams due to the Ideas defense Exhibition being held in Karachi.
The Pakistan cricket Board said the decision to shorten the tournament was taken keeping in mind the safety and health of the players. The board official said that all players were safe and no one was injured due to the fire outbreak.
“Fortunately, no players were injured as the PCB immediately evacuated the five players who were in the hotel at the time of the incident and safely shifted them to the Hanif Mohammad High-Performance Centre,” a PCB statement said.

“In addition, the unavailability of alternative accommodation to meet the approximately 100 rooms with the required standards contributed to this result,” the PCB statement said. “To determine the tournament winner, the PCB has decided that the Invincibles and the Stars – the top two teams after four games each – will face each other in the final. The date and venue of the final will be announced in due course,” PCB said in a statement.
According to a report, all five players present at the hotel were rescued and taken to Hanif Mohammad High Profile Centre.
To determine the winner of the tournament, the PCB has also decided to organize the final between the top teams in the table after four games each – the Invicibles and the Stars.
