No, it's not a misprint. The Detroit Lions actually placed safety Ifeatu Melifonwu on injured reserve on Tuesday.

Yes, that's true too from IR on Monday.

What is there?

Melifonwu is back on IR for at least four more weeks with a finger injury. He had before through Week 11 with an ankle problem suffered in Detroit's second preseason game. Melifonwu injured his finger in practice last week after he had already been scheduled to return from IR

As head coach Dan Campbell explained Monday, Melifonwu would be out longer than the end of his 21-day activation window, which was originally scheduled to follow the Week 12 trip to Indianapolis. The oft-injured reserve backup is now out until at least week 16.

Melifonwu can be activated from IR a second time, although the number of activations for the team is limited and several other players (Brodric Martin, Emmanuel Moseley, John Cominsky, Jalen Reeves-Maybin) will also return at some point.
