It was a season to forget for the New York Jets and cornerback Sauce Gardner.
Not only are the Jets (3-8) having a poor season, but Gardner isn't his usual elite self. Part of the problem is pretty simple.
Gardner had a number of missed tackles. has given him a total of 10 points so far this year. One was costly and late against the Arizona Cardinals and he took offense to the comments about this on social media and responded. Gardner later apologized.
This sheds even more light on what likely led to what happened last time out against the Indianapolis Colts.
In it Gardner actually made a tackle. He was credited with a total of four points, but Gardner missed another.
But thanks to Jets fans, Gardner's first got the spotlight as the crowd at MetLife Stadium went out of their way to give the cornerback a cheer… or “Bronx cheer” for making the play.
Gardner heard it.
“I was like, 'Seriously?' They’re just so excited about the Jets,” Gardner said.
Gardner didn't seem too upset about it. In fact, he even acknowledged that the New York supporters had so many feelings for their team.
