After defeating Mike Tyson last weekend, Jake Paul has once again expressed his desire to face UFC star Conor McGregor – only this time with a twist.

Paul gave McGregor plenty of taunts in the hope of luring him into the ring, although for the most part the Irishman didn't want to engage in any back-and-forth.

“The Problem Child” was subsequently widely criticized Fight with Tysonwho looked like a shell of his former self at the age of 58.

Although the main event wasn't much of a competition, the show was is said to have attracted more than 60 million viewers on streaming giant Netflix, making it by far the most-watched boxing event in recent memory.

And Paul now seems to be taking a liking to the big names and took to Twitter to encourage McGregor to get an MMA fight.

“Dear Conor, I know you told my team that you would fight me at 170 pounds. That never happens.

“But let’s let it play out in MMA. No weight class. The way it used to be done. But you won’t.”

“The Notorious” responded astutely, penning the following (now deleted) tweet, accompanied by a photo of 82-year-old American politician Mitch McConnell.

“Nakisa already called me, boy, this guy is next for you. Good luck, buddy.”

A Paul McGregor fight in the boxing ring would be a test not only of skills but also of egos. While McGregor has the superior experience, Paul's speed, size and unconventional approach to pugilism could lead to an unpredictable outcome.

However, the Dubliner would be a huge favorite if they faced off in the Octagon, despite Paul being the younger and bigger man.

Regardless of who won, the fight would be a huge payday for both fighters, and the build-up would almost certainly be one of the most entertaining of all time.
