Travis Head praised India's best pacer Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the upcoming edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. The Australia international praised him as an “X-factor” and noted that Bumrah is incredible in every form of the game. Notably, the 30-year-old has been an important cog in the Indian bowling attack, particularly in Test cricket, where he has picked 173 wickets in just 40 games so far at an exceptional average of 20.57.
He has played seven Test matches in Australia and picked up 32 wickets at an average of 21.25 which is also phenomenal. Meanwhile, the speedster will also lead India in Perth in the absence of Rohit Sharma. The star batsman has retired from the game due to parental responsibilities and will be back for India's second Test against the hosts in Adelaide. Earlier, Head was all praise for Bumrah and added that the pacer is always one step ahead of the batters.
“Impossible (looking at Bumrah). You try to feel like you're one step ahead, but it always feels like it's the next step. He is incredible in every format of the game. He's their X-factor, he's the guy they go to every time and most of the time he's able to produce for them. You have a lot of work ahead of you as a batsman. He’s someone who will be difficult in the summer,” Head told Fox cricket.

Usman Khawaja talks about his experience fighting Bumrah
Start in Australia Usman Khawaja revealed his experience playing Bumrah for the first time. He stated that the pacer could generate additional pace through his action and he did not expect that. He also compared Bumrah's approach to that of Mitchell Johnson.
“When I first faced Bumrah, I thought, 'Oh, where did that come from?' Because of the awkwardness of his action and the way he releases the ball, it comes a little quicker than you expect. Similar to Mitchell Johnson, he also had a strange action. The ball used to come out and feel like it was getting to you quicker because you couldn't see it the whole time. Jasprit is a bit of the same, with the arms going everywhere,” Khawaja said.
