Dhawan's decision to appear in the Nepal Premier League for Karnali Yaks came immediately after his release by his Indian Premier League franchise, the Punjab Kings. There were no takers for the IPL star at the capital-rich league's mega auction.
On the occasion of Dhawan's arrival, scores of Dhawan and NPL supporters danced to the tunes of pompous music. He was also tracked down and alerted while sitting in a car that was supposed to take him from the airport to the hotel where his teammates were staying.

Looking forward to playing games with local and Nepali players: Dhawan
The dashing former Indian batsman was looking forward to kickstarting the game for the Yaks. He also hinted that apart from playing cricket, he would also like to do some sightseeing.
