Only seven overs were bowled on the final day of the first Test between the West Indies and Bangladesh at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Tuesday, November 26. The hosts needed just three wickets to win the Test, while Bangladesh fell 225 runs short of their target.

Alzarri Joseph provided the West Indies' first breakthrough in the second over on Day 5 when he dismissed Hasan Mahmud for a 12-ball duck. The right-arm pacer bowled the ball a length around the off-stump, forcing Mahmud to play on it. The Bangladesh bowler only managed an outside edge that nestled into the gloves of wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva.

Jaker Ali tried to delay the inevitable before being dismissed lbw to Alzarri in the 37th over. This time, the big pacer threw the delivery around mid-off and stayed a little deep before hitting the batsman on the pads. Jaker went to review and she came back with three shades of red. The right-handed batsman's innings ended with 31 off 58 balls.

Bangladesh's No. 11 batsman Shoriful Islam came to the crease and delivered a blow on the shoulder when Alzarri threw the first ball. After Jayden Seales' ensuing overbowl, the physio came out to check on Shoriful. Bangladesh decided to end their innings at 132/9. The West Indies won the game by 201 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the two games Test series.

Kemar Roach and Seales ended the fourth innings with three wickets each. Alzarri claimed two wickets on the fifth day while Shamar Joseph made his contribution with the wicket of Litton Das on the penultimate day. Justin Greaves, who scored his maiden international century in the first innings, won the Player of the Match award.
