The Cincinnati Bengals got punched in the chin as he came out of the bye with the news that he had been named defensive lineman in week 13.
And now, according to NFL Network, an even worse injury update has surfaced ahead of kickoff Linebacker Logan Wilson is also not expected to play.
Wilson suffered a knee injury this week and his absence would mean a heavier workload for Joe Bachie (if he can play) and potentially undrafted free agent Maema Njongmeta alongside Germaine Pratt and Akeem Davis-Gaither.
In short, the Bengals could lose a key player in the middle of the line, as well as the linebacker best suited to offset such a loss.
It's not exactly the kind of news the Bengals wanted after a bye before a cold AFC North game with the season on the line, but it certainly seems to fit the theme of the season so far.
