The best the Bengals can do right now is 10-7, and that requires them to lead the standings from here on out with two games remaining against the Steelers. The isn't dead, but it's definitely on life support. Early on Everything was going the Chargers way, and anyone watching could see the disgust and the boards looked out as the Bengals fell into a 27-6 hole. Incredibly, not only did they manage to tie the game at 27-27, but the Bengals also appeared to be the better team at that point, almost destined to pull off an all-time comeback. Instead, they've taken another step toward missing the postseason in the same stadium that dashed their Super Bowl hopes a few years ago. At best, the Bengals can compete with virtually anyone in the NFL. Worst case scenario, they are just as capable of giving away games. Unfortunately, that has become the theme of the season: narrow, painful losses through self-inflicted wounds.”
