The Thunder likely enter the game with a chip on their shoulder considering the Mavericks just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Sunday. With a score of 121-119, they fell just short of Dallas.
The Thunder might have lost, but man, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was a machine: He went 13-for-19 en route to 36 points, plus eight assists and two steals. The game was Gilgeous-Alexander's fourth straight with at least 30 points. The team also received support from Jalen Williams, who was 11 for 17 on the way to 27 points as well as five assists and five rebounds.
Even though they lost, the Thunder worked as a unit and finished the game with 29 assists. In this regard, they significantly outclassed their opponents, as the Mavericks only scored 18 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for the Spurs, but they could have been much better as they suffered a 110-93 loss to the Mavericks on Saturday. San Antonio has struggled against Dallas of late, as the game was their sixth straight loss.
Oklahoma City's loss ended a three-game home winning streak and dropped the score to 11-3. As for San Antonio, the loss dropped their record to 6-8.
Tuesday's matchup should be a tough battle: The Thunder haven't given up the ball easily this season, averaging just 10.6 turnovers per game (they rank first in turnovers per game overall). However, things are different for Spurs as they have an average of 15 players. Given the Thunder's significant lead in this area, the Spurs must find a way to close the gap.
The Thunder defeated the Spurs 105-93 when the teams last played in October. The rematch could be a little more difficult for the Thunder as the team won't have home field advantage this time. We'll see if the change of venue makes a difference.
