NFL Hall of Fame QB fired up about Patriots rookie Drake Maye

NFL Hall of Famer Kurt Warner was thrilled with New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye's performance in Week 11 against the Los Angeles Rams.

The rookie went 30 of 40 on the afternoon, throwing for 282 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. His 75 percent completion rate was his highest of the season. The 282 passing yards were also a career high for him up to that point.

Overall, it was a solid day for the 22-year-old quarterback, despite the loss and interception at the end of the game. Warner liked what he saw when the Patriots faced his former team.

“The game, that played today was the third best rookie QB performance I've seen all year (the other two were by )!!!” Warner posted on the X platform. “Saw the field, made the throws, threw it ahead, threw it away when needed and made some off-schedule plays when there was nothing!! ”

Maye's growth is obvious considering he's getting better with every outing. His ability to keep plays alive and quick decision making help generate offense. His running ability, in particular, was an asset to the team behind a struggling offensive line.

The Patriots still need to do him justice by surrounding him with the talent he needs to compete. Regardless, early success has been solid and he is helping the offense get going.
