New England Patriots legend Ty Law was impressed with how rookie quarterback Drake Maye has captained the offense in his first five NFL starts.
The North Carolina product has recorded 954 passing yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions this season. He has also shown off his scrambling skills with 233 rushing yards this year.
Law is one of many who recognize Mayes' incredible potential as the Patriots' future franchise quarterback.
“His ability to escape was really impressive to me,” Law said, transcribed by . “I didn’t know he had that kind of escape ability. Being able to use his legs. He threw some nice passes. From a decision-making standpoint, he will continue to get better. I think that’s our quarterback of the future.”
It remains to be seen what Maye will achieve as the season progresses.
So far, he appears to be developing at a high level during his rookie season and appears to be a solid building block for the future. At least he caught the attention of a Patriots legend.
