Patriots veteran wide receiver sees progress in the ongoing rebuild

New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne sees progress amid a difficult season for the Patriots organization.

The wide receiver was brought to New England in March 2021. He has quickly become a reliable veteran in a Patriots receiver room that hasn't been particularly consistent in recent years. He was rewarded for his efforts, signing a three-year, $19.5 million contract extension last offseason.

The wide receiver has been through a lot in recent months as he recovers from an ACL injury over a year ago. He has had a year full of ups and downs, even if he was on the bench at one point .

Still, he enjoys New England and sees progress in the future.

“I love this place. I have a real soft spot for New England…I think we're better than we were at the beginning of the year,” Bourne said, via Mike Kadlick of CLNS.

Bourne has become more than just a productive wide receiver. He has also been a stabilizing, veteran force in a locker room that has gone through a lot of changes.

It's fair to say he's the type of player/personality teams would want on their roster when rebuilding.
