Jared Verse entered Sunday night's game against the Eagles looking to steal the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year award from them Quinyon Mitchell. Verse finished the night with seven tackles and no sacks, but he was more impressed by the 255 rushing yard performance of Philadelphia's star running back Saquon Barkley.
Jared Verse said he has never seen a running back like Saquon Barkley.
“He’s a different type of player,” Verse said. “I’ve never seen a running back like that. Like I said, he can go downhill, he can hop. And he did both for us.”

Barkley's The explosion included touchdown runs of 70 and 72 yards, and his 255 yards are the ninth-most in an NFL game in league history. Barkley broke LeSean McCoy's record of 217 yards rushing in a game (Snow Bowl vs. Lions 2013) with his 72-yard run that served as the knockout strike in the win.
