Is the Vikings longterm answer at guard playing in the Senior Bowl?

The Minnesota Vikings have begun experimenting with offensive line pairings in recent weeks following the return of Dalton Risner. The team had used Ed Ingram earlier in the season, but his inconsistent play led to a move.

However, Risner also has problems with the right defensive position. Could the team be hoping for help in the offseason? For Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, the answer could be found at the Senior Bowl.

Senior Bowl Director Jim Nagy does a great job putting together a roster full of NFL talent. The players then compete in practice in front of all 32 NFL teams, and that's where the Vikings front office can find its answer.

There is one specific player who could be the answer: Gray Zabel from North Dakota State.

Zabel has garnered national attention since the summer, and his 2024 season has kept the coals hot. He's technically a solid run-and-pass blocker, but also athletic enough to play either guard or tackle at the next level. Having something with his skill set could be a fun chess piece for the Vikings up front.

If it's not Zabel, there will be other offensive linemen going to the event, but the soon-to-be former Bison has the edge early because he's a good fit.
