The secondary has led the Vikings defense for 10 weeks this year during their great start. One of those leaders on defense is cornerback Byron Murphy Jr., who has been on a special run lately and finds himself in unique company.
Murphy Jr. is doing so well that he is the first Vikings cornerback since 1992 with an interception in three straight games.
Audray McMillian was the last Vikings cornerback to make such a run in 1992. Only two other players, Carl Lee in 1988 and Issiac Holt in 1986, had longer stretches. Lee has done it five games in a row and Holt has done it four games in a row.
Murphy Jr. has joked that he wants to reach 10 interceptions in 2024, but he currently only has four. He needs to break a Vikings record to reach the 10 mark or double in a few games.
