Today's news about Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Diontae Johnson could mean at least one of two things for the Carolina Panthers: They were right to trade him, and/or their pass catchers are going to have a really, really tough time this weekend.
On Wednesday, the Ravens announced a suspension for Johnson, who did not play in the Week 13 loss. A statement from general manager Eric DeCosta said the “difficult decision” was due to the former Pro Bowler's refusal to attend the game against the Philadelphia Eagles – the Panthers' opponent this Sunday.

This latest development between Johnson and the Ravens shouldn't come as much of a surprise to those who heard what head coach Jim Harbaugh said about the situation on Monday.
“I have to wait” by Johnson. “There are some moving parts that we need to figure out and explore to just see where we are. It’s the best I can do to please everyone.”
The Panthers to the Ravens on Oct. 29 in a deal that includes a late-round pick swap for the 2025 NFL draft.
Since then, he has recorded just one reception (of five yards) and 39 offensive snaps in four games. Apparently he didn't catch a snap in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
