The Houston Texans will lay down a weapon on Saturday afternoon.
Tight end Teagan Quitoriano, who returned from injured reserve this week with a calf injury, was downgraded to out for the AFC Wild Card game against tight end Los Angeles Chargers.
Quitoriano wasn't expected to play a large role, but his influence could have improved Houston's passing game in the red zone. The Texans are expected to play tight end Cade Stover and wide receiver John Metchie III after dealing with various ailments.

Quitoriano was primarily effective on special teams in 2025, but his size does provide an advantage. During his rookie season, he caught seven passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.
Last year, due to injuries, Quitoriano finished with two catches for 33 yards in seven games.
Kick-off at the NRG Stadium is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on CBS and Paramount+.
