The Tennessee Titans are preparing for an AFC South matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 14.
The Jaguars are one of the few teams in the league that had a worse season than the Titans. The Jaguars enter this game with a record of 2-10, while the Titans have a record of 3-9.
Accordingly the Titans have a 3.5 point advantage at home. The over/under is 40.5 points.
Now let's identify five things you should know before this match.
The Titans are finally favorites again

The Titans will be favored for the second time in 2024. Yes, that's right – it's Week 14 and the Titans have only been favored one other time this season.
The last time the Titans were favored was against the Patriots. The Titans won that game, so maybe that's a good sign for this weekend. Can the Titans get their fourth win of the season against a bad team?

The Titans have a 35-24 lead in the all-time series with the Jags. The Titans won 11 of 14 games in the series from 2015-21.
Historically, the Titans have had no problem beating the Jags even in their best seasons. Will it stay that way with a new coaching staff in Nashville? Titans fans won't be happy with Brian Callahan if he can't beat Jacksonville.
Trevor Lawrence seems doubtful for this game

Trevor Lawrence suffered a heavy, cheap shot from Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair in Week 13. The QB suffered a concussion and his status for Week 14 is unknown.
However, the Jags recently added QB John Wolford to the roster, which could be a bad sign for Lawrence. Even if the QB passes the concussion protocol, he probably won't be at 100%.
This game could have draft implications

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
The Jaguars would be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL draft if the season ended today. Meanwhile, the Titans would have the No. 6 pick.
If the Jaguars win, the Titans would move up the draft board while the Jags would move down. These few spots could be crucial, especially if the Titans want a QB. This is a game we could look back on as extremely meaningful.
Did any of these teams quit?

None of these teams have postseason hopes. Both teams have been embarrassed several times this season and are probably already looking ahead to 2025.
It will be interesting to see which team is ready to play and whether either team looks checked. Both coaches' jobs could be in jeopardy after this season, and nothing gets you fired quicker than looking uninspired against your biggest rival.
