The Tennessee Titans are 3-9 this season and many fans have already turned their attention to April and the 2025 NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, unlike previous years when there was consensus about the best candidates, there is no clear order in the player rankings after Colorado Buffaloes cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter. That doesn't mean there isn't talent; There are. That just means that the players this year and the order in which they are selected are likely more in line with scheme fit than a consensus draft board.
This will make this draft both exciting and polarizing, especially for fans who are not housed in team facilities to see the actual big board.
In fact, this is already visible in the mock drafts published on the Internet. No one has any idea how this draft will turn out, and it will likely stay that way until at least February and the NFL merger.
nfl Draft expert Dane Brugler of The Athletic recently released his latest mock draft, making sure the Titans get around their biggest need at offensive tackle and play defense with the seventh pick.
7. Tennessee Titans: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
After improving Tennessee's offensive line in the first round over the last two years, general manager Ran Carthon can now turn his attention to the defensive side of the ball. Although his production has declined this season due to an ankle injury, Williams possesses a rare blend of power, athleticism and length. His 2024 Texas draft alone could be enough to get him drafted that high.
There is no doubt that the Titans need to get more out of their edge players, and Williams may be the top edge prospect for the 2025 nfl Draft. He has prototypical size, length and athleticism that will allow him to being versatile enough to play multiple positions along the defensive front, be it in a 4-3 or 3-4 formation. While he needs some refinement in terms of hand placement and consistency, he has the tools to be an impactful player in the NFL.
