During November, the NFL celebrates the brave men and women who serve and have served the United States in the armed forces.

Well, those Denver Broncos will seek to give back to a veteran through its partnership with K9s for Warriors.

“The Denver Broncos Foundation, with the support of owner and CEO Carrie Walton Penner and head coach Sean Payton, will sponsor the training of a new service dog in continuation of its partnership with K9s For Warriors,” the team said in a statement Wednesday.

“K9s For Warriors is honored to once again partner with coach Payton and the Denver Broncos Foundation,” said Lindsay Grayson, Chief Revenue Officer at K9s For Warriors. “The dog will begin training at Broncos Country, attend his first game and meet fans. He will then save the life of a military veteran. We want to thank the Broncos for believing in our mission to save lives at both ends of the leash.”

Carrie Walton Penner and Sean Payton also led the team's sponsorship two service dogs in the last year. These dogs, Bucky and Thunder, have now completed the training program.

“K9s For Warriors is a nonprofit organization committed to ending veteran suicide and providing highly trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and other invisible wounds of war,” the Broncos said in a statement.

“K9s For Warriors is committed to saving not one, but two lives and rescues a majority of its dogs for its service dog program. This allows both the K9 and the veteran to form an unwavering bond that facilitates their healing and recovery together. On average, they match up to 16 veterans with service dogs each month. To date, the organization has rescued more than 2,000 dogs and connected nearly 1,000 veterans with life-saving service dogs.”

Well done, Broncos.
