While all signs pointed to the San Francisco 49ers securing their third straight victory, Geno Smith led the way with a late push with less than three minutes left, securing the victory for the Seattle Seahawks and stunning the Santa Clara crowd.
With a devastating loss in Week 11, the 49ers' two-game winning streak ended as they fell to 5-5 and last place in the NFC West.
One of the problems in San Francisco's 20-17 loss was their offense. The 49ers never got into a rhythm offensively and scored just 17 points, matching their season low for points in a game.
While the offense struggled, Jauan Jennings was one of the 49ers' only bright spots. Jennings continued his impressive breakout campaign with 10 catches for 91 yards and a touchdown. Jennings continued to provide a spark to the 49ers' offense on Sunday, catching multiple balls on third downs for tough first downs.
