Updates on 49ers injuries not good as final Week 12 practice begins

Before traveling to Green Bay for their Week 12 game against the Packers, the San Francisco 49ers got ready for their final practice of the week on Friday afternoon.

Entering practice, the 49ers were missing numerous star players, including their starting signal-caller. When practice began, quarterback Brock Purdy was not on the field. Purdy suffered a shoulder injury during the 49ers' Week 11 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Over on Twitter:

Without Purdy, veteran backup passer Brandon Allen was at center for the 49ers' practice. Allen competed with fellow quarterback Joshua Dobbs during the offseason. Allen last started for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021.

In addition to their already stacked injury record, Pro Bowl pass rusher Nick Bosa (hip, oblique) and All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) were also missing at the start of Friday's practice.

After Friday's practice, the 49ers travel to Green Bay for a potentially snowy Week 12 game against the 7-3 Packers.
