The Seattle Seahawks defense is struggling again. There were times this year when the unit looked overwhelming, primarily because of their pass rush. Unfortunately, there are also times when they simply aren't there…especially during the pass rush.
One of those events was Seattle's Week 6 game against the San Francisco 49ers. Once again, the 49ers had little trouble defeating the Seahawks with another double-digit win. Part of Seattle's problems was the fact that they couldn't get the better of quarterback Brock Purdy, although not for lack of trying. Purdy proved shockingly elusive Football on Thursday evenings Showdown.
The Seahawks pressured Brock Purdy on 48% of his dropbacks in Week 6 – the highest rate this season for Seattle and the QB. Still, they finished the game with no sacks and just four hits. Mike Macdonald said having Purdy on site on Sunday was “definitely a focus” this week.

In his career, Purdy is a perfect 4-0 against the Seahawks. He has thrown for 1,049 yards and eight touchdowns with just two interceptions. In the aforementioned Week 6 game, Purdy threw three touchdown passes. Last week, Purdy torched the Buccaneers' secondary for 353 yards.
As much as many Seahawks fans don't want to admit it, Purdy can be a strong quarterback at times, especially in this rivalry. If Seattle wants a chance to pull off one of the biggest upsets of Week 11 – like the Hawks do – They have to find a way to actually transfer the pressure to Purdy and get him on the floor.
