Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has insisted Jadon Sancho will “help us a lot” this season – but he has told the striker he needs to stay fit.
The on-loan winger prepared both of his team's goals 2-0 win on Thursday in Heidenheim away in the Europa Conference League.
Sancho He started the game and played the full 90 minutes, hastening his return to action.
The 24-year-old has not been in the starting line-up since the defeat against on October 20th.
Meanwhile, his five-minute appearance against Leicester on Saturday was his first appearance in six games.
Maresca has now explained what Sancho needs to do to become a regular player blues.
The Italian remarked: “I've said since we started, Jadon has been very important for us.”
“He has to be mentally and physically fit and will help us a lot.”
“Unfortunately we haven’t used him in the last few games.
“But he shows tonight how important he is.
“We need this quality in the final third against a deep block. He will help us a lot.”
Sancho provided assists for both And as Chelsea defended their perfect start in Europe's third-tier competition.
The Blues have won each of their first four games to secure at least a play-off spot with two games to go.
As for Sancho, he has managed five assists in just seven appearances since his loan spell at Chelsea on the deadline.
He hopes to keep his place in the team for the away game against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
And his performance against Heidenheim caught the attention of the former Tottenham centre-forward Peter Crouchwho believes that he proves his quality in every game.
The former England striker told TNT Sports: “He was involved in a lot. He has such quick feet and creativity.”
“When he has confidence he is as good as anyone and always seems to choose the right pass.”
“He’s getting up to speed but when he’s fit and playing well here’s what he can do.”
As for Chelsea icon Joe Cole, he added: “Sancho was fantastic again.”
