Caitlin Clark is making the most of the WNBA break.
She was in the stands to support her friend Connor McCaffery as Butler stunned Mississippi State 87-77.
McCaffery is an assistant coach at Butler and was clearly doing something right as Mississippi slipped to 6-1 with its first loss of the season.
Clark came into the game and was seen pushing her brother Colin to celebrate a great defensive play as the Bulldogs took a 6-1 lead.
She met McCaffery in Iowa, where he was a player for six years and the couple spent time together.
The 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year has lived up to the hype since turning pro.
Clark has shattered countless records during her time with the Hawkeyes and earned the all-time points record.
But 19-year-old freshman Juju Watkins is already chipping away at her legacy.
The USC Trojan beat Clark to 1,000 points by two games two weeks ago.
And yesterday she became the fastest player to 15 games and at least 30 points in the last 10 seasons.
Watkins dropped 34 points and added six rebounds and four assists against the Saint Louis Billikens to get over the finish line.
It took her 41 games to hit the mark, one fewer than Clark.
“That's why we call her a goat, she's better than everyone else,” one fan commented.
“Man, what this kid did is crazy,” another posted on X.
“She just keeps breaking all of Caitlin’s records, one after the other. Hilarious,” wrote a third.
The Trojans were compared to the high-profile Indiana Fever superstar after leading USC to a 6-1 start.
But she would rather concentrate on her own game and leave the comparison to others.
“I would say I just do my best to be myself and play my way.” Watkins told Athlon Sports.
“I don’t really think much about the comparisons or the pressure, but I would say I just go out there and try to have fun, do what I do and keep working hard.”
“I think that’s always my mentality.”
Watkins has already teamed up with Clark after that Signing a NIL contract with State Farm.
“She made herself available and said, 'Whatever you need'” Watkins told NBC Sports. “I was grateful for their kindness.
“Caitlin is a great player, but she’s also a really good person.”
Watkins still has to ask Clark for advice as she tries to find her own path.
“I'm sure she'll get used to it []so I don’t want to bother them too much,” she added.
“But yeah, if I ever really need to, I’ll make sure I get in touch.”
