These days, footballers don’t always focus 100% on their careers and many have turned their hobbies into “side jobs”. The latest high-profile player to achieve this is Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who unveiled his own esports organization earlier this week.
TC Esports, led by Courtois, was officially announced this week. The organization will focus primarily on virtual motorsport, which is one of the Belgian international's passions in his free time – during the COVID-19 pandemic he took part in a number of online races involving Formula 1 drivers such as Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris took part.
According to the 32-year-old commented on the announcement.
“I always wanted to have my own e-sports team, because sim racing can also open doors into the world of motorsports and we also want to focus on that at TC Racing.”
