Somerset have signed England all-rounder Charlie Dean to their new women's team for 2025.
Dean, 23, arrived from Hampshire and spent the last seven seasons with Southern Vipers, where he won five trophies including the Charlotte Edwards Cup and the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
The off-spinner won the first of her 69 England caps in 2021 when she was called up for the One-Day International series against New Zealand, where she was England's leading wicket-taker with ten wickets.
Dean became the fastest woman to take 50 ODI wickets for England, doing so in 26 matches, and was named the PCA Women's ODI Player of the Year in 2022.
“The club has a rich history of success in men’s football and that is something we are keen to replicate as a women’s team,” said Dean.
“I would like to contribute to Somerset’s victory with both bat and ball and help the team take home silver.”
