Well, that was an impressive day of cricket. A total of 84 players went under the hammer and teams did not hesitate to spend millions of money to secure the services of their dream players. This edition of the auction broke several records for the highest bids for a player.
But wait! The work isn't done yet. The second day on Monday November 25th in Jeddah will once again see a list of names with a chance to raise the curtain on the event before teams complete their squads and then between March and May 2025 be the focus.

The first day of IPL 2025 Auction kept its promise as the franchises competed fiercely during the event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, November 24th. There were many surprises for cricket enthusiasts as the auction dynamics produced intriguing scenarios.
The second day of the auction will take place on Monday at the same venue as teams will look to fill out their rosters with key additions. Rishabh Pant created history on day one by becoming the most expensive player ever in the cash-rich league.
The wicketkeeper-batter was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for a whopping INR 27 crore. Meanwhile, IPL 2024 winner Shreyas Iyer joined Punjab Kings for INR 26.75 crore. Venkatesh Iyer (INR 23.75 crore) reunited with the Kolkata Knight Riders while Arshdeep Singh (INR 18 crore) and Yuzvendra Chahal (INR 18 crore) moved to the Punjab Kings. These five players were the top buys on day one.
There will be plenty of action on day two as there are several star players up for grabs. All eyes will be on the legendary James Anderson, who goes under the hammer for the first time. The names of legendary batsmen such as Steve Smith and Kane Williamson will also appear on Monday. Meanwhile, the teams have star Indian cricketers like Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Akash Deep, Mukesh Kumar and many others at their disposal.
