Rajasthan Mahipal Lomror hit a phenomenal triple century against Uttarakhand in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Batting at number three, the 24-year-old batted with the right intent and scored a stunning 25 boundaries and 13 maximums en route to a triple century. He seemed to be in complete control of the game and even when he lost partners at regular intervals, Lomror was unaffected as he carried on in the same way.
Karthik Sharma, who batted for six, supported him well in the middle as the cricketer scored 113 runs off 115 deliveries. In the middle, they formed a partnership of 177 runs. Later, keeper-batter Bharat Sharma scored 54, Deepak Chahar 35 and Kukna Ajay Singh scored an unbeaten 40 as Uttarakhand declared their innings for 660 runs. Meanwhile, Lomror remained not out for 300 runs off 360 balls.
Uttarakhand, on the other hand, lost two early wickets. Captain Ravikumar Samarth scored a half-century as the hosts scored 109/2 after Day 2. They are 551 runs behind and have a mountain to climb. The batters have a tough job ahead of them as Rajasthan hope to take early wickets on day three and aim for a win at the Abhimanyu cricket Academy.
Meanwhile, Lomror's mighty knock came at the right time. The southpaw has not been retained by Royal Challengers Bengaluru as he will go under the hammer in the upcoming IPL mega auction. Normally, IPL franchises do not take into account the Ranji Trophy, but with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) starting later this year, teams can take into account the form of players in the red-ball tournament.
