Young Indian cricketer Nitish Kumar Reddy, who made his Test debut in the high-profile clash against Australia in Perth, scored a crucial 41 runs off 59 balls in the first innings of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. His strike along with KL Rahul (26) and Rishabh Pant (37) helped India score 150 against Australia.
He also reflected on his first Test win in Perth and shared thoughts and experiences while playing under India's stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah.
“It was a good start. It’s not a dream innings but it was a good start,” Reddy said. Reddy also praised Bumrah, who is currently leading the side in place of Rohit Sharma, and appreciated the strategic decisions taken during the game.
“He is very good. It was the first time I played under Bumrah's captaincy. It's quite hard to say anything about his captaincy but so far he's been very good with the change of overs and everything, the change of spells. I have seen that he is very good.” Reddy was quoted as saying.

“Best thing I heard from Gautam sir” – Nitish on Gambhir’s advice

That really helped a lot. It only strengthened me.” “This is the best thing I have heard from Gautam,” said Nitish Kumar Reddy.
