The Cincinnati Bengals remain in the playoff hunt despite their miserable record and failure to meet expectations.
But that doesn't mean fans can't take a look at the 2025 NFL mock drafts yet.
In this area of NFL coverage, you'll find plenty of mocks that give the defense some help, whether along the fighting line or in the secondary.
But a select few are also giving Joe Burrow another weapon.
Take, for example, a new mock from The Draft Network who ensures that the Bengals grab Michigan tight end Colston Loveland:
Since Joe Burrow became the Bengals' quarterback, the tight end position has been a revolving door. This year, the Bengals are trying to find a player in Colston Loveland at Michigan who could be their long-term solution at tight end. Loveland has high-level athletic attributes that make him a good fit at both linebacker and safety. As the Bengals figure out which superstar receivers they will pay, they are drafting a high-end tight end to solidify the offense and clear up the picture.
Quietly, tight end is now a bigger need in Cincinnati than you might think . Veteran Mike Gesicki also has a one-year contract.
A 6’5″ weapon like Loveland would certainly help the offense and life after Tee Higgins could prove difficult if it happens. But this type of choice would also prevent the defense from getting much-needed help.
However, at least it's a scenario to keep an eye on from here.
