Buffalo Bills LB Terrel Bernard named AFC Defensive Player of the Week

Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week following his team's win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 12.

Bernard is the second Buffalo player to win the DPOTW award in as many games as cornerback Taron Johnson .

Overall, the Bills (9-2) have had six players earn weekly honors so far this season.

Bernard led the Bills with eight tackles, including one for loss.

More importantly, Bernard sacked and intercepted Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The latter was the last play of the Kansas City offense as Bernard iced the ball .

Bernard's impact was even more noticeable considering he missed this team's postseason loss to the Chiefs last season. .

In total, Buffalo has taken home six Player of the Week awards so far in 2024. The Bills' team record in a single season is eight.
