New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye didn't mince words about the team's 34-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
It was a day where the team struggled on both sides. The rookie was one of the better players of the afternoon, completing 22 of 37 passes for 222 yards, a touchdown and an interception.
The touchdown came on a 38-yard pass to tight end Austin Hooper after an incredible scramble play by Maye. It was a commendable late comeback for the offense, but it was too little, too late for New England.
Maye summarized his thoughts while speaking to reporters after the game.
“It’s always tough when you lose,” Maye said. “…I hate losing. I really like winning. So losing sucks. I've told some guys that they just remember that feeling. We kicked our butts today and I think it's all uphill from here. We have a bright future and smart players who can make some plays for the Patriots.”
“I hate losing, I really like winning… I said some people just remember that feeling.”

Few expected the Patriots to compete from the start, but there was hope that the team would be more competitive in games. The Patriots didn't just lose on Sunday.
They were exposed.
