The New York Jets (3-7) continue their regular season journey with a matchup at MetLife Stadium with the Indianapolis Colts (4-6).
The whole week, Themes and storylines were discussed in advance of this fight between two AFC opponents. Ultimately, regardless of what players, coaches, media and fans say, it all comes down to what happens on the NFL field.
And once the battle comes, there are a few special things to watch out for.
So here are six things to watch for during the Jets' season Week 11 Game against the Colts:
Welcome Home?
The Jets went to Arizona and lost to the Cardinals. Their season basically went down the drain with that loss. Before that game was this upcoming road trip with the Colts retired from prime time football So it's a kick-off at 1 p.m.
All in all, what reaction and feeling of welcome do New York fans give their Jets? Could be an interesting atmosphere at MetLife.
Any pride?
When we talk about the playoffs being a pipe dream, does that mean the Jets will show a sense of pride against the Colts? They were pretty lifeless and had nothing to play for… let alone nothing to play for…
Aaron has a leash?
Do the Jets have any control over quarterback Aaron Rodgers? Can we say if he could be benched in time? Tyrod Taylor is New York's backup QB and some team observers have started looking his way. Rodgers' biggest issue is his lack of mobility in 2024… and Taylor has never had any issues in that area.
Can they… tackle…
It's pretty simple. The Jets defense cannot attack. At least not very well.
So much so that interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich said his players would practice fully padded this week … because they'll actually tackle in practice. That's not always the case in the NFL, but how bad is the tackling for New York? The Jets could actually use some pointers…
Does going against a young QB help?
After naming Joe Flacco their starting quarterback on Monday, the Colts decided on Wednesday that Anthony Richardson would do so instead in New York. Flacco was No. 1 at 1-3, but still looked better than Richardson.
How about a running game?
It was very noticeable The loss to the Cards in Week 10but the Jets have been passing the ball a lot more recently when it comes to their offense. Just like last week, New York is having more success rushing the ball with players like Breece Hall. So are we seeing some sort of balanced attack? Or will the Jets continue to live and die when Rodgers throws it?
