Aaron Rogers should retire you Roger that New York Jets fall to 3 7

Enough is enough, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers has significantly underperformed this season and we should no longer allow the reputation of his Hall of Fame career to distract us from the current reality.

Rodgers was 22 for 35 and a measly 151 passing yards on Sunday 31:6 defeat to the Arizona Cardinals and didn't score a single touchdown. Rodgers' stats have been mediocre this season, but Rodgers fans refuse to just be honest and admit that this is the beginning of the end for him.

Sure, blame the defense for allowing 31 points to the Cardinals, or better yet, blame Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Williams immediately became an asset to his new team in Week 10 because of the Jets' deficiencies. The truth, however, is that Rodgers' lack of consistency is the only thing that stands out common denominator, not the defensive struggles. The Jets were a pass-first team this season but ranked 23rd in the NFL in total first downs per game.

Instead of facing the reality of his mediocrity, Rodgers spends his free time trying to burnish his celebrity status by appearing on sports shows. Earlier last week, Rodgers was reported to have praised Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff, which proved detrimental to Goff on Sunday night.

A week earlier, Rodgers appeared on The Pat Mcafee Show and joked about how the season was shaping up.

Well, what's next? More aimless and distracting comments after the Week 10 explosion? Rodgers is finished and it's time for the media to call it like it is.
