Someone needs to take over the general manager job for the New York Jets for the remainder of the 2024 NFL season.
That person is Phil Savage.
The Jets fired Joe Douglas this week. Savage, 59, previously served as the team's senior football adviser since 2019, when Douglas was originally hired.
Previously, Savage worked with Douglas at the Philadelphia Eagles and also served in various roles with other teams, including the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens:

In After Douglas was fired, Jets owner Woody Johnson named Savage interim:
“Phil Savage will be the interim general manager for the remainder of the season. We will begin the search for a new general manager immediately.”
Savage could be there or interviewed when New York begins its search for a new GM before the 2025 season. However, it's likely the Jets will look around the league extensively.
