Marshon Lattimore out vs. Cowboys

Washington Commanders cornerback Marshon Lattimore will miss his third straight game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, head coach Dan Quinn announced Friday.

Lattimore was acquired in a trade from the New Orleans Saints three weeks ago and has yet to practice for Washington as he rehabs a hamstring injury. Quinn said Monday that Lattimore was trending in the right direction and that the Commanders were fully aware of the hamstring injury before the trade.

“We knew there would be a time after the trade where it wouldn’t be plug-and-play,” Quinn said. “So what I expect from the player is that he works as hard as he can and learns as quickly as he can?” And the good news for us is that Marshon is an absolutely ferocious worker and as ready as he can be “It's possible and wants to learn the ropes, but we just won't take the risk.”

Washington plays Tennessee in Week 13 before a bye in Week 14. The Commanders could target a Week 15 debut for Lattimore, which happens to be against Lattimore's former team, the New Orleans Saints.
