Lions activate DT Brodric Martin from injured reserve

Brodric Martin is back on the active roster of the Detroit Lions. The Lions activated the second-year defensive tackle from injured reserve at the end of his return window.

Martin has missed the entire season so far after suffering a knee injury in the preseason finale in Detroit. He was scheduled to return on October 31stmeaning the Lions had to activate Martin this week or else they would lose him for the rest of the year.

Martin expects to strengthen the defensive interior rotation and help limit the high number of snaps for starters DJ Reader and Alim McNeill. The 2023 third-round pick out of Western Kentucky showed growth in his game and improved conditioning over the summer before suffering the injury.

No additional roster moves were required to activate Martin after the team addressed the safety of the injured Activation of Ifeatu Melifonwu and subsequent return to IR with another illness.
