Colts best and worst performances from Week 12 loss

The Indianapolis Colts canceled their Week 12 game against the Detroit Lions, and Pro Football Focus now had the opportunity to review the tape and hand out their individual grades.

According to PFF metrics, which Colts players received the highest grades and which ones struggled?

But before we dive deeper, I always want to point out that PFF's metrics, good or bad, are not the be-all and end-all when it comes to evaluating a player's performance. It's helpful because it quantifies it, but it's also just one of many tools out there and should be treated as such.

Here's a look at PFF's rating system to provide some context behind the numbers:

90.0+: Elite
80-89.9: High quality
70-79.9: Good
60-69.9: Above average
50-59.9: Average
40-49.9: Below average
39.9 or less: Poor

Below are the Colts players who received the three worst grades on Sunday.

However, if you're looking for a more optimistic outlook, you can find the Colts' three highest-rated offensive players in separate articles and the top rated defenders .

TE Drew Ogletree

PFF grade: 32.5

A tough performance from Ogletree. He had the critical drop in the red zone that put a touchdown off the board, and PFF didn't rate him particularly well as a blocker either.

DT Raekwon Davis

PFF grade: 35.5

Davis played 21 snaps on Sunday and didn't record a single statistic. No pressure and no tackles for him. There are other ways for a center back to make an impact, like taking on double teams and eating up space to release his teammates, but PFF may not have thought too highly of Davis' performance in that regard either.

LG Quenton Nelson

PFF grade: 36.9

A very untypical performance from Nelson. First of all, he was penalized three times in this game. He was also responsible for giving up four pressures and ranked 45th out of 49 guards in PFF's pass blocking efficiency metric in Week 12. PFF gave Nelson a decent grade in the running game.
