Throckmorton was promoted from the practice group added to the 53-man roster on November 1 after the team lost starting center Luke Wattenberg to an ankle injury. He served as a backup swing guard/center this month, but Wattenberg has since returned and Denver needed to clear active roster spots.
If he clears waivers, Wattenberg is expected to return to the Broncos' practice squad. His spot on the 53-man roster will likely be taken by wide receiver Josh Reynolds, who is ready to return from injured reserve this week after recovering from a finger injury.
