Hansi Flick to consider using defender as makeshift attacker for Barcelona's trip to Celta Vigo
Barcelona are facing a minor injury crisis ahead of their return after the international break. Hansi Flick will be without the services of Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres for next weekend’s trip to Celta Vigo, while he may also be unable to call up Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.

As things stand, Barcelona only have four attacking options to choose from for the game at Balaidos: Raphinha, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez and Pau Victor. With this in mind, Flick could decide to make a bold decision and use Alejandro Balde in a more advanced position.

According to Flick is considering playing Balde as a left winger against Celta – a position that is not entirely unfamiliar to the 21-year-old, having played there during his time at La Masia. There’s a good chance that this will only happen if Lewandowski is unable to start, as Victor would likely start on the wing if the Polish striker gets the medical green light.

If Balde is deployed on the wing, Gerard Martin would be deployed at left-back – the young player has flattered to deceive this season when asked by Flick, so it could be a risky ploy for him especially in a place like Balaidos where they have had problems in the past.
